So I don't know if everyone saw this. Last summer Freddie-friend Thor Arnold engaged in reminiscing about Freddie on the Queenzone forums: http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1480243/clarification-of-thor-arnolds-role-in-freddies-life.aspx

He says perfectly nice things about Freddie there.

So this summer he is hawking his memoir/photobook of hanging out with Freddie in the early 1980s. No word yet on if this will ever be published but fingers crossed. https://www.gofundme.com/freddiemercury-bk-w-50-unseen-pics

I took a chance and sent him money because I *do* want that book; I want *all* the Freddie books. But it may never happen and may be a waste of money and I accept that risk.

Ooh, thanks for that link. I do hope the book gets published. I've actually just read David Evans' "Is This the Real Life", Peter Hince's "Queen Unseen" and Peter Freestone's cookbook in the last month so it's been very interesting to read (often the same) stories of Freddie told by different people.

"Queen Unseen" was a good book - more general life as a roadie almost, than Queen's roadie specifically. I found it a really interesting account of the lifestyle. I wish Crystal would write something! Used to love his tales on the old Queen fan club website. I very much respect how circumspect he is though.

I am listening to Hot Space now as it was mentioned!! I cannae remember any of it!

Bit concerned that Firefox warned me that joining Queenzone was not secure.

Interesting! I can't help but be wary of all such things, because Freddie's privacy was so important to him. I don't like to feel too voyeuristic. On the other hand... it's Freddie. Best of all would be a Roger autobiog, but he's pretty categorically ruled that out. Also, as mentioned below, a Crystal book would be lovely, but sadly very unlikely.
